Over 1,000 five-star reviews can’t be wrong, right? They’re not. The Hoodie by PAKA is an alpaca hoodie sweater hand-made in Peru, and you can just feel the quality as soon as you get it in your hands. I will be living in this hoodie on cool spring mornings, and it’s perfect for spring camping trips, too.
This hoodie is lightweight but warm, it’s soft without being itchy, and it’s odor-resistant for those times you’re adventuring away from home. I love this item, and my only warning is that when you wash it, it’ll smell like a wet alpaca. Thankfully, the smell goes away once it’s dry. Be sure to check the sizing guide since this item is unisex.

This is my favorite piece in my spring wardrobe. Roark’s Canyon romper takes me from backyard get togethers with friends to spending a day at the stream with my kids. It’s lightweight and quick drying with tons of functional pockets . . . and it’s just adorable.
I have this romper in the black color, Nero, and I’ve paired it with a crop short-sleeved shirt and a hoodie, if you want to add some warmth. This is such an easy spring outfit that’ll look effortlessly stylish while still being functional during everyday life and outdoor adventures. With Roark items, I tend to size down.
The Landmark Project Tees – Unisex, Women, and Kids

Images by The Landmark Project

If you’re not familiar with The Landmark Project, this is your sign to become acquainted. This brand is by people who love the outdoors for people who love the outdoors. A portion of every purchase supports conservation efforts, which means you can feel extra good about wearing their clothes, which are all outdoorsy.
The spring/summer 2025 collection includes a slew of new tees, and I’m here for it. I love the Short Sleeve Boxy Tee and would probably wear it every day if I could. My husband has the new National Parks Coast-to-Coast Unisex Short Sleeve Ringer Tee, and my eldest has the Happy Camper Youth Short Sleeve Ringer Tee. Every tee The Landmark Project makes is good quality and comfortable; you really can’t go wrong.

Bearbottom Clothing is a solid outdoorsy brand, and their Ridge Ripstop Shorts are an excellent choice for spring. These shorts are made from durable ripstop fabric for adventures while also featuring four-way stretch and lots of functional pockets, making them perfect for everyday life or hiking, camping, etc.
This is one of my husband’s favorite brands, and it’s one of my favorite brands on him. Plus, Bearbottom donates a meal to schools for every purchase!

A good pair of denim shorts is a must for spring. I’m a fan of Roark’s HWY shorts. They’ve got a high waist (but not too high), and a 3-inch inseam, which feels just right. They come in two different colors, a faded-wash black and a light bleached denim. I have the black pair, and they make for an easy, cute outfit no matter what I wear them with.
If you spend time outdoors, you’re probably like me, and you must have pockets, even on your “regular” clothes. These shorts have lots of pockets, and they’re deep pockets (not those lame pockets you often find in women’s denim).

If you’re looking to add a versatile short-sleeve tee to your spring wardrobe, Bearbottom Clothing’s tech tee is the one. This tee is stretchy and soft to the touch, plus it’s moisture wicking and antimicrobial. It’s also UPF 50+, which will protect your skin on sunny days.
The tech tee comes in tons of colors, so you can pick up multiples to suit every outfit. They’re also affordable at $24, and Bearbottom donates a meal to schools for every purchase.
Shoes
XERO Shoes Scrambler Low EV – Men and Women

These high-performance trail runners, XERO Shoes’ Scrambler Low EVs, would make an excellent choice for spring trail-running or hiking shoes. I’m shocked how light these athletic shoes are while still having the grip you need on slick trails. In fact, the Scrambler Low EVs have Michelin Fiberlite technology in the outsole, making them uniquely rugged and lightweight. Meanwhile, the mesh uppers are super breathable and abrasion resistant, and I love how easy they are to get on and off.
Naturally, the Scramber Low EVs have a zero-drop design, which some say is a more natural way for your feet to function. For me, it’s just a preference. These fit true to size in my experience.
XTRATUF Legacy Low Boots – Men and Women

April showers bring May flowers, so they say. If it’s raining this spring where you live, you might need some boots for all that stuff you do outside. From camping to fishing to chopping wood in the backyard, XTRATUF’s Legacy Low boots are going to help you get the job done. Specifically, I tested the Legacy Altitude Low, an all-terrain version of XTRATUF’s Legacy boot for men, and my husband loves them. (I linked a similar women’s version above.)
The low-cut design makes for easy on and off, while the outsole will keep you from slipping even on the slickest of surfaces. The boots aren’t stiff, and, most importantly, they’ll keep your feet dry.
XERO Shoes Dillon Canvas – Men and Women

Looking for a classic sneaker that’s casual but still athletic and adventure-ready? I love XERO Shoes’ Dillon Canvas shoe. These shoes have that effortlessly stylish, everyday vibe that says, “I’m not a trail right now, but I’d rather be.”
These shoes are so light, you’ll forget they’re on. The canvas is also breathable and quite durable; I haven’t had any fraying despite wearing them a ton. I appreciate XERO’s zero-drop design and the moisture-wicking liner that’ll keep your feet dry.
I just had a friend ask, “Are those ‘barefoot’ shoes? I’ve never seen any that cute.” Of course, I told her about XERO. (Note about sizing: I had to go half size down in these.)
Rocky Boots Spike Waterproof Outdoor Boot – Little Kid and Big Kid

Ready for the cutest hiking boots ever? Rocky Boots’ Spike Waterproof Hikers come in both little kid and big kid sizes. My youngest has a pair of these, and they keep him upright while hiking, even if there are slick rocks or scree. He loves to go the extra mile, so he’s always hopping along on rocks and climbing every available ledge as we hike. If this sounds like your kid too, maybe it’s time to invest in a pair of hiking boots that’ll keep up!

When kids do messy things, they need a shoe that can handle the mess. Muck Boot Company’s Muckster Lite Clog is extremely lightweight and easy to slip on, while also providing traction and comfort. My eldest recently wore these on a hike to a waterfall that included lots of wading through water. I was nervous when I realized she was wearing her clogs instead of her hiking water shoes, but I have to admit, the shoes worked out great.
For spring showers and muddy adventures, check out these high-performance clogs for your active kiddos. They’re made from BioLite, a more eco-friendly option than other injection molded foam shoes, and they’re incredibly easy to clean. Available in both little-kid and big-kid sizes.
Accessories

Polarized sunglasses are a must for outdoor adventures this spring. I love SCOTT Sports’ Riff polarized sunnies. The whole product is eco-friendly, from the frame (made of regenerated nylon sourced from fishing nets, fabric scraps, etc.) to the bio-nylon lenses and the recycled-material pouch.
These sunglasses are lightweight, stylish, and will protect your eyes from the sun. They’re great companions for hiking, camping, paddleboarding, and whatever else you might get up to this spring.

Made from alpaca fiber, PAKA’s trail 3/4 crew socks are wonderful for spring. They’re light and comfortable, durable, and designed to offer all the benefits of a typical trail sock (like a slight heel cushion, some compression in the arch, and some mesh on top for breathability). These socks come in nice, outdoors-y colors, and the price is very reasonable for a quality sock that’ll last you many seasons to come.

Perfect for spring parties and spring-break trips, Pistil Designs’ cute Kenzie Sun Hat will keep you shaded and looking chic. Think wildlife safari, calm-water kayaking, or a lazy river day—this sun hat is my new favorite go-to hat for warm, sunny days. Available in two colors, natural and golden, this lightweight straw hat offers a full, adjustable brim and an adjustable hat band/neck cord to achieve the perfect fit.

Made with hydrophobic technology, Melin’s Icon HYDRO is your best bet for a stylish hat that’ll keep you cool and withstand your adventures this spring. After all, it’s water repellant, floatable, and breathable. The Icon HYDRO comes in many nice color combinations, including several classic combos along with some fun limited and colorful options.
Melin hats are extremely well made—like meticulously so. The details on these hats are superb, and it’s worth the investment for a hat that’ll last and last (and still look good and perform well).

Fox Sox makes some truly awesome socks, and my choice for spring everyday wear is the Anywear Essential Lightweight Crew Sock. These socks are everything you want your socks to be—comfortable, breathable, sustainable, moisture wicking, and durable.
The Anywear Essential Lightweight Crew Socks two pack comes in a range of color combinations, so you can stick to the basics (white/white, black/white, etc.), or you can mix it up with a spring color and a basic.
