Rescuers raced into action when they received a phone call about an opossum stuck in someone’s roof. After rescuing her, they found a lovely surprise.

Rescuers Save An Opossum From A Roof

The Dodo shared the heartwarming story of an opossum’s rescue. The Carolina Wildlife Conservation Center (CWCC) received reports of some injured wildlife. According to the call, a homeowner noticed that an opossum’s head was protruding from their roof. The poor creature seemed to be trapped and helpless.

Fortunately for the animal, CWCC transporter Sonia and her dad did not hesitate to jump in the car and offer their assistance. Upon arriving at the scene, they clearly saw how complicated the situation was. In a Facebook post, they detailed what they saw. The post read, “An opossum had made her way into an attic, where she then tried to get out of a tiny hole and got her head stuck!”

Fortunately, Sonia and her father were able to safely remove and save the opposum. Then, the creature was taken to the rehab center to conduct an intake of the animal. The situation was described as an emergency since “it wasn’t clear if she was injured.” However, no one expected what they discovered during that intake.

Rescuers Saved An Entire Opossum Family

After rescuers saved the opossum, they decided to conduct an intake of her health. During this examination, they discovered that they did not just save one opposum. Instead, they had unknowingly rescued an entire opossum family.

The post shared photos that clearly showed tiny joeys in the mama’s pouch. Besides some swelling around her neck where her head was stuck, Mama opossum is doing well. Finally, the post shares the specific location of the opossum’s pouch, claiming that “should you come across a deceased opossum, this is where to look for babies. Be the crazy person who stops to check opossum pouches!”
