Van & Vino – First Achtung Camper Meet Up

They came.
They stayed.
They drove their vans.
They chatted.
They laughed.
They asked when is the next one.

It was clear that Achtung Camper’s first meet up, Van & Vino, was a raging success! With a total of 16 vans – two campervans, 14 motorhomes and of course two dogs. All Achtung Campers – and even one of our very first conversions.

Achtung Campervanners swapped camping stories, van features, close calls and future plans. There were new friendships well and truly formed.

Wye River Beachfront Campground

Sun, sea breeze, campervans and a splash of good red — that was the vibe at Achtung Camper’s Van & Vino meet-up at Wye River Beachfront Campground.

Set right on the edge of the Great Ocean Road, Wye River delivered the kind of backdrop you can’t manufacture – foamy surf, towering gums, sandy shore and a gathering of passionate van owners.

Community

But this wasn’t about selling anything, it was about community. A community of like-minded people.

A growing crew of Achtung Camper owners rolled in, parked up side-by-side and did what this community does best – shared stories.

First big trips.
Lessons learned.
Favourite camps.
Near misses.
Big dreams.
New accessories.

Chairs came out. Platters appeared. Bottles were uncorked. Conversations flowed as easily as the wine.

This was proof that campervans aren’t just vehicles – they’re connectors. Between cities and coastlines. Between strangers who quickly become mates. Between everyday life and the kind of weekends you talk about for years.
