A fisherman in a kayak was nearly two miles off the coast of Malibu, California, this past weekend when he accidentally caught a mako shark on his line. According to local CBS LA News, the shark bit the man while he was attempting to set it loose. In fact, CBS LA says the shark was able to grab ahold of the man’s leg and pull him into the water. Thankfully, people on a nearby boat witnessed the incident, contacted emergency services, and helped the man get to shore.
