Pike a bit bite-shy, but tench on top form for Newbridge Anglers

The Newbridge & District Pike Anglers opted for a bit of luxury on their latest fishing excursion and headed up to Tipi Fishing Adventures for a weekend of piking and a bit of coarse fishing. Some of the group opted to head up early and try for some tench on the Friday night, and they were chuffed with their decision when they found the tench to be feeding avidly and some super fish to 5lb were netted.

The following day was the first of two days of pike fishing, but unfortunately, the pike were less obliging than the tench, and while 45 fish were caught, the biggest was only 8lb. On the Sunday they opted to bank fish, and had to cut the competition short due to poor weather. Again, the larger pike did not show, and the best fish of the day was just over 10lb. Despite the poor piking, the quality of the setup impressed them so much that they plan to revisit next year. See the full report on the Newbridge District Pike Anglers Facebook Page.
