“The next door neighbors were really causing a ruckus today,” wrote Sara Hughes in an Instagram post sharing a video of two bull moose battling it out on a back porch. The two massive animals stare each other down before butting their antlers together multiple times and pushing each other around. It’s rut season, and battles like this are a normal part of what bull moose are doing this time of year. The battles are males’ way of establishing dominance—whether they’re fighting for territory or mates.

“Out of all the millions of acres of land [and] forest they pick someone’s patio to fight?!?!” wrote one person in the video’s comments section.

“I held my breath for those windows,” wrote another.

Miraculously, the animals’ antlers didn’t break any windows or appear to do too much damage.
