A North Carolina man named Andrew Phail says after some bears stole chocolate cake from his vehicle, they wouldn’t stop coming around and looking for more. So, he decided to take matters into his own hands . . . quite literally. Phail recently shared a video of him playing an electric guitar on a patio as a bear family tries to raid a dumpster across the yard. An amp blasts the music toward the bears, which glance hesitantly at the humans, as if thinking, “What is that noise?!”

“Don’t do this, it will teach the bears to love rock music,” joked one person in the video’s comments section. “Then next thing you know they’ll be in the middle of a mosh pit at your local rock concert, and you don’t want that.”

The tactic seemed to have worked. The video shows the bears leaving the dumpster and climbing a tree, prompting Phail to stop playing.
