10 Celebrity Preppers Ready for Anything

Just because you’re a famous celebrity doesn’t mean you can’t encounter hardship, disasters, and SHTF. Some movie stars, world-class athletes, and business giants know this and choose to be die-hard survivalists and preppers. Sure, there are plenty of survivalist celebrities out there but the surprising ones are not Bear Grylls or Les Stroud.

There are plenty more celebrity preppers that choose to be less outspoken than the ones below.

Nathan Fillion

Maybe it isn’t a surprise that Captain Malcolm Reynolds of the cult classic “Firefly” is a zombie prepper. He also starred on the TV show “Castle”.

He went on Conan Tonight back when it was airing and talked about how he is a self-taught welder so he can armor up his SUV for the zombie apocalypse:

Ronda Rousey

Rousey, known for beating faces in the UFC octagon and as an Olympic medalist, is a prepper who lives with her husband on a homestead in Southern California.

She may no longer be duking it out in the octagon but she is ready for SHTF. The millions she made in her career could not hurt her chances, and she’s chosen to spend it on a mostly independent homestead and a lot of goats.

Zooey Deschanel

Zooey usually plays the ditsy, fun-loving character in her TV and movie roles but the planning she talks about for disasters shows how sensible she really is.

Although it’s highlighted as a unique fact about her, around 8% of people in the US claim to be preppers when asked anonymously and even more have taken basic steps towards individual preparedness.

Roseanne Barr

Roseanne, the popular comedian/actress from, well… Roseanne is a very active advocate for prepping. She has tweeted: “In America: be prepared by organizing with your neighbors to grow wholesome food/store water/vitamins/guns.”

She was very critical of former president Obama by stating that he “has no ideas, no plan, and nothing to add other than the cynical pacification of the masses with bedtime stories about hope.”

Jamie Lee Curtis

Curtis is the type of prepper that believes the more people are prepped; the better it is for everyone. She is a Red Cross advocate and has consistently supported them in their mission to teach the importance of preparedness.

Mark Zuckerberg

Mark Zuckerberg’s Hawaiian bunker construction has spread through the media like wildfire, somewhat at odds against its purpose. This has caused many people to speculate that ‘he knows something’, or assume that he’s got a wire loose somewhere.

Proportionally, he’s spending a similar amount of money as the rest of us on preparedness and it felt like this story was spreading due to a slow news cycle between the Israel conflict and the upcoming US election.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian has a few properties along with her ex-husband Kanye West. Clyde Scott outed her as one of his clients for his bunkers and built one for the couple before they spit. While many of the Hollywood elite and uber-rich are the clientele that invests in bunker solutions, it is odd that he chose to single the couple (at the time) out.

She is the most well-known celebrity prepper on this list with millions of social media fans. She constantly has issues with the paparazzi and stalkers, so it’s not surprising that she would want to keep her family safe from any societal disruption.

Post Malone

Post Malone moved out of LA for a Utah mansion that he has dubbed ‘apocalypse proof’. The singer/songwriter with over 30 awards has always enjoyed castles so it is fitting that he would make one of his own to survive whatever comes up.

The “Circles” and “Sunflower” singer is a down-to-earth guy by most accounts. He will be happy to hole up in his mansion with his supplies and ride out the apocalypse just ‘kicking it’.

Joe Rogan

Joe Rogan, a comedian, podcast host, and mixed martial arts commentator has let people know he’s into prepping. He has discussed prepping on his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” and advocates self-sufficiency and emergency preparedness. Joe also has spoken about owning firearms and storing food and other supplies. He also says he has an ‘apocalypse vehicle’ and would prefer it over his Tesla:

Mike Rowe

Mike Rowe, host of the TV show “Dirty Jobs” and an advocate for skilled labor and self-sufficiency, has spoken publicly about his interest in preparedness and survivalism. He has advocated for being self-sufficient and has spoken on his show and in interviews about the importance of having the skills and knowledge to take care of yourself and your family in an emergency.

He is a down-to-earth guy, so it is no surprise that he is a celebrity prepper in his own right.

A Few More Celebrity Preppers

We’ve covered the most outspoken and well-known celebrity preppers above, but there are plenty more celebrities known to have dropped hints or plainly shared that they are preppers.

  • Ryan Seacrest – The National Enquirer outed Seacrest as a prepper in late 2017. They said he’s hoarding protein bars for an ‘overdue earthquake’, which I’m sure is simplifying his endeavors to make light of them, as they also called preparedness a ‘weird obsession’.
  • Elon Musk – The billionaire is considered to be the biggest prepper by some but varies from most preppers in that he has the resources to address causes and mitigate issues on an extremely large scale. He has shared his goals to further humanity toward becoming an interplanetary species to not only ensure our long-term survival but also learn more about the universe itself.

The Final Word

Don’t leave the prepping to the rich and the famous celebrities. Being prepared for disaster does not have to break the bank since the most important part of preparedness is recognizing realistic possibilities. Make sure you are prepared for the many risks in this world by being prepared. Our readers have found these other articles helpful:
