Whitewood Pike Angling Club had their first outing of 2024 at the weekend, as 21 members dusted off their rods to head to Cavan for the day. They nominated three small lakes as the competition venues and anglers could pick and choose where they wanted to fish over the course of the day.
There were no real monsters, but there were decent numbers, as they managed to land a respectable 143 pike on the day, with a couple of doubles, including a 14lb 2oz fish for Mark Kiernan which turned out to be the best fish of the day.
Full results are as follows:
1st John Sheenan 15 fish 47-8.
2nd Shipwreck (Kevin McPartland) 15 fish 45-5.
3rd Mark Kiernan 10 fish 38-11
