Belgian anglers enjoy their stay at Melview Fishing Lodge

Kevin Lyons of Melview Fishing Lodge reports…

Regular anglers Jean–Pierre and Alain from Belgium were over once again for their first visit of 2024. These guys know the waters well as they come and stay at Melview Fishing Lodge two or three times a year and have been returning here since 2008. So it was nothing new for them to arrive and see the water levels very high and some areas in flood. However, this did not put them off as during their stay they managed 57 Pike to 97cm.

We were targeting the bigger ones at this time of the year but it was not to be on this trip. Both lures and dead baits proved productive for them and they will return in July and October to have another go for the pike and even a spot of coarse fishing.

Well done guys and look forward to seeing you again soon!
