25lb PB for Darren Dunne wins Newbridge District Anglers Competition

The Newbridge District Pike Anglers went back to a lake venue that has produced the goods in the past for the latest round of their club schedule. Weather on the day was fine, with sunny skies and mild temperatures, so it’s fair to say expectations were high given the lake had fished well in the past, and there’s nothing like a bit of anticipation of a big fish to focus the minds of anglers!

Luckily, the lake lived up to its reputation, producing a fabulous 25lb pike for Darren Dunne, a new PB for him, and a worthy fish to win any competition.

Darren’s fine 25lb pike

There were also a couple of decent doubles thrown into the mix on the day, so it’s fair to say that the venue has stamped its name on the competition calendar.
