Two horseback riders—a mother and daughter—went for a trail ride near Mount Shasta in northern California, when, suddenly, they started hearing an unexplainable noise. The noise sounded like it was coming from everywhere as they approached a specific section of the trail. Karrie Ann Snure and her daughter, Jordan, then saw the source. There were 100-200 small, solar-powered speakers sticking out of the ground, all playing sounds that, together, sounded bizarre and creepy.
“My daughter [was] visiting from Idaho so we went for a sunset ride last night out off Highway 97 and started hearing this strange noise drifting through the trees,” Snure wrote in her Instagram post. “Turns out it was 100+ maybe even 200 solar-powered . . . speakers scattered around, pumping out white noise. The ones that were placed by themselves, you could make out a human voice repeating a mantra.”

After Snure shared her experience on social media, the video gained a lot of attention. She vowed to get some answers.
Snure tracked down the property owner and learned that the man is passionate about spreading positive and healing messages about peace and similar subjects. When isolated, she says each speaker is playing a human voice repeating some sort of mantra. Together, it just sounds like white noise.
