A snowy egret, a type of heron, hitched a ride on the back of a swimming capybara, and it’s viral-video gold. TikTok user bibs158 captured the video and added a soundtrack from Chamillionaire’s 2005 song Ridin’. (They see me rollin’ / They hatin’ / Patrollin’ and tryna catch me ridin’ dirty.)
Although bibs158 doesn’t provide any context for the video, capybaras live in Central and South America, including Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Peru, Brazil, Paraguay, northeast Argentina, and Uruguay, so we can assume one of these places is where she saw this hilarious scene. These aquatic animals are the largest rodents on Earth, and they can weigh over 100 pounds.

Thanks to their partially webbed feet, capybaras are excellent swimmers. Since their eyes, nose, and ears are positioned on the top of their head, they can peek above the surface while keeping most of their body beneath the surface. The snowy egret clearly knew the capybara would make a great ferry, hopping aboard as the rodent swam across a swampy area.

If you saw this in the wild, would it make you laugh?
