A tragic story out of Utah continues to make headlines as the public is showing an outpouring of support for a surviving family member. Five members of the same immediate family—Provo Fire and Rescue’s Captain Spencer Long, his wife Katrina, and their three sons—all died while recreating (hiking and/or canyoneering) near Sunglow Canyon in Utah. A flash flood hit the area on Friday morning while the family was there, and none survived.

The couple’s fourth child, Lydia, was not there that day, but she is now facing the unimaginable loss of all of her immediate family members. Extended family members have set up a GoFundMe for her in hopes it will help ease the financial burden of this loss.
