When you own a dog, there is never a dull day. Between picking up stuffing from toys, chasing squirrels on walks, and endless snuggles, there is always something to do. However, some dogs are more adventurous than others and get into more mischief. For example, this adorable pup decided to make his walk with mom all the more interesting by getting a cactus stuck on his head. His owner decided to film the entire ordeal.
Dog Gets Cactus Stuck On Its Head
PEOPLE Magazine shared the story of Emily Michelle and her adorable dog Jax. Emily decided to spice things up by taking her dog Jax on a different walking route than usual. I am sure she just anticipated some different views and new smells for Jax.
However, she got a lot more than she bargained for. While enjoying the beautiful sunny day in Arizona, Emily’s dog decided to do a little extra sniffing. Not thinking much of it, she let Jax lead the way. Unfortunately, he led the way right into a cactus plant. That’s right, instead of leading to something sweet, Jax’s nose led him to something prickly.
Naturally, Emily was very concerned for her dog’s well-being. However, Jax seemed completely unfazed by the fact that he had a cactus stuck on his head. “He wasn’t panicking or showing any signs of pain,” she told the outlet. Therefore, the owner took the opportunity to snap a photo of the terrifying yet hilariously adorable moment.
The Great Rescue
Despite Jax’s calm appearance, Emily knew that she had to remove the cactus from his head. Since he seemed so calm, she took the opportunity to share the removal process with the world. She set her camera up and began to record the whole ordeal.
Emily began by trying to slowly peel the cactus off of Jax’s head. However, after several similar attempts, she learned that that was not the best course of action. She calmly informed Jax that she was just going to have to rip the cactus off his head. Like the good boy he is, Jax patiently waited throughout his mom’s explanation and sat like the best boy for the whole process.
“In a moment like that, the best thing you can do is remain as calm as possible and don’t panic,” she told the outlet. “Because I knew that if I got elevated, he would too. Dogs are like kids in that way.”
Luckily, it appeared that the majority of the cactus was stuck in the dog’s fur and didn’t stab or harm his skin. Mom and Jax both came out of the situation mostly unharmed. Now, the video has amassed a ton of views, and the people of the internet cannot get enough of the dog who got a cactus stuck on his head.
