Search-and-rescue crews found the bodies of two Romanian mountain climbers who were missing in the Italian Alps for about four days. The climbers died after falling into a crevasse on Gran Paradiso, a mountain in Italy’s Gran Paradiso National Park. No information is currently available about the climbers’ ages or identities.

“Two climbers have died on Gran Paradiso after falling into a crevasse,” reports ANSA. “Their bodies were recovered by the Valle d’Aosta Alpine Rescue team, who had been searching for them since July 9th, the day they left the Vittorio Emanuele II refuge for their ascent.”
On Monday, ANSA reports that the rescue team located the crevasse and extracted the two climbers, who had fallen about 65 feet.
This situation is still developing, and details may change.
