A trail cam in Churchill, Manitoba captured a peaceful moment between a polar bear mom and her two cubs. In the short clip, the polar bear family is resting together, looking very serene and content. Polar Bears International (PBI) shared the “sweet” footage in celebration of Polar Bear Week 2024.
“These sweet mom and cubs were spotted on our @exploreorg live cam this week
Happy Polar Bear Week!” wrote PBI in the Instagram post.
The nonprofit organization says it created Polar Bear Week “to coincide with the annual gathering of polar bears near Churchill, Canada, as they wait for sea ice to form on Hudson Bay so they can return to hunting seals.” PBI uses the annual event to draw attention to the threats polar bears face in the Arctic.
