Talk about best buds! The bond between Oakley the dog and River the cat is unlike anything I have ever seen. They have been caring for one another their entire lives, and now that Oakley is a senior, he needs a little extra TLC. Luckily for him, River is there to provide it. The cat now offers daily massages to his senior pup friend, and their mom captures it all on video.

Cat Gives Massages To Senior Pup Friend

River first came to the home when he was a kitten. Amber Aquart, the owner of both Oakley and River, shared that originally, River was just a foster. River was just a tiny, sick kitten recovering from surgery. The entire family banded together to help him, including Oakley.

When speaking with The Dodo, Aquart had this to say. “River was never afraid of Oakley because of his gentle spirit, and Oakley helped him feel comfortable when first coming into our family.” As their connection grew, Aquart decided the two were inseparable. Therefore, she made the decision to adopt River and make him officially a part of the family.

Years later, River has not forgotten Oakley’s kindness. Now, as Oakley is aging, he has begun to lose mobility in his rear legs. Also, he requires daily massages to help with these mobility issues. River watched Oakley receive his massage with rapt attention. Little did his family realize he was studying.

One day, River jumped in and started giving massages to Oakley, just as he had seen his mom do. Now, the cat gives massages to his senior pup friend every day.

Naturally, the internet could not get enough of the video. After all, when was the last time you saw a cat handing out massages? It is clear to see that River really loves caring for Oakley.
